Although I might not be the height you would normally look for, my athleticism more than makes up for my size. I competed in gymnastics for nine years, and as a result, I can consistently out-jump my peers. I am a multi-sport athlete; I have competed at the Varsity level in not only track, but volleyball and basketball as well. These sports have given me an advantage because of the different skills and lessons each has taught me. I have also been involved with an aggressive weights program for three years.
What really sets me above other athletes, however, is my work ethic. I am consistently the last one to leave practice, and I am always willing to put in extra work on my own free time. I strive to be "coachable" and give 100% at every practice and game. I have known since kindergarten that I wanted to compete in a sport at the college level. I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach this goal.
I am a solid candidate academically as well. I am involved with the Advanced Placement Program at my school for English, math, and science. I was raised in a single-parent home for most of my life, and my mom told me from an early age that I was going to college and to plan on getting scholarships to pay for it. I have worked hard to get where I am, and I can assure you that I would be a solid addition to your team, both athletically and academically.
