Hello! My name is Nia Mamuya and I am currently a sophomore at V. Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Last season, as a freshman, I ran for the girls varsity track and field team. I ran the 100m, was the anchor leg in the 4x100, ran the 200m, and was the anchor leg in the 4x200 and I occasionally did long jump. My best 200m time is a 26.32, but I plan on cutting my times down dramatically as the next 3 seasons come. I am the NMAA 5A-District 1 2019 girls champion for the 200m and the 4x200 relay. At the 2019 NMAA 4A & 5A State Track & Field Championships, my 4x200 relay team placed 4th. I am different from other recruits because I balance running track, playing volleyball and keeping my grades up very well. I currently take 2 AP classes (Biology and World History) and have a 4.3 weighted GPA. I have always challenged myself academically and want to commit to a university where I can receive challenging and beneficial classes, but also run and thrive on their competitive track and field team. I plan on majoring in Political Science on the Pre-Law track to becoming a Health Lawyer. I am a great candidate for your team because I will push myself to cut my times down with each race and contribute points toward a team trophy, but I will also prioritize my academics and make your scholarships worth while.
