I always strive to make people around me feel comfortable and also try to set a great example for others by working hard, staying positive, and lifting people up if they've not had the best day, because that can sometimes happen to everyone. My work ethic is very strong as well as my desire to encourage and teach others. I tend to thrive under pressure by staying calm and keeping a positive mindset. I love meet days! I am really driven to be a team player and produce results, both on the field and in the classroom. Although I am just 16 years old, I am very sure about my academic and career path and also that I want to continue with pole vaulting at the college level because my greatest joys are keeping fit, learning new things, continuing to improve, encouraging others, and making great memories. With each new school year and season, I look forward to being a great friend and positive example to my team and any people I meet along the way, and achieving new personal bests in the classroom, in pole vault, and in life.
I am a very hard-working student and athlete. I am in all honors/AP classes and have made high honor roll (Summa Cum Laude) every grading period since starting school. I also just recently received the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership award. I started my athletic career as a USAG competitive gymnast with the highlights being NY state bars and all-around champion. I retired from gymnastics to pursue pole vaulting, primarily because I really wanted to represent my school and community once I entered Middle School. I started pole vaulting in 6th grade and was the first 7th grader to ever make the Warwick Valley High School Varsity Team at the start of an Indoor Track Season. I currently hold four NY state pole vault records and was the New Balance Outdoor National Champion, Freshman Division, in 2022.
Thank you, Rachel Venter, class of 2025
