I have decided to commit academically to Appalachian State University. I hope that running will continue to be in my future, but, my education comes first, and App State fit me personally and my major of International Business. I thank all the coaches and schools for their interest in me as a student-athlete.
Throughout my time in high school, I’ve been working towards one goal that most high school students have: getting into a good college. I have worked hard to get to where I am today and I wish to continue this into college and the rest of my life. I wish to succeed in running at the highest level possible. Running has opened up not only new opportunities for me, but, has given me a sense of purpose and a confidence that fuels my educational experience. I give my best efforts in the classroom and on the track everyday. I have learned what strategies work best for me and have a strong work ethic. Reaching my goals of National Honor Society as well as Academic All-Conference and Cougar Club (all A/B) for every season I’ve compete is just the beginning.
My love of running started at a young age, although I did not get to run Cross Country until High School. I have enjoyed success as a state qualifier with my team, and wish to improve upon this by making the state meet in Track this year as an individual. As a captain next year for Cross Country, I hope to lead my team back to a Conference title and another state appearance as well as earn all Conference honors as an individual. I fully support my teammates in all activities because I feel that, while my personal success is paramount, the team’s overall success is just as important. I hope this gives you a little more insight to who I am as an athlete and a student but also gives you an idea of what kind of asset I can be to your team.
