I have been active in track since my sixth grade year where I ran the 100m dash and participated in long jump. This continued throughout my middle school years where I learned to love the sport of jumping. In eighth grade my coach recommended that I participate in high jump once I get into high school. In ninth grade I continued with long jump and added high jump. Unfortunately due to Covid I never was able to participate in any competitions. In Spring 2021 we were able to resume Track. It was during this season that I qualified for both regionals and state finals within my division. In Winter 2022 our school was upgraded to a 2A school. I set a new PR for high jump, and again made it to state finals where I placed 6th. In Spring 2022 I again set a new PR and made it to both regionals and states. Our competition is happening soon.
My goal is to win! I will continue to compete in my high school and would like to compete when I attend college in the Fall 2024. I am a good candidate for the team because I work hard, I help train others, and I am a quick learner. I am excited for the possibility of training with other collegiate athletes and learning from them as well. I improve each season by setting new PR's, and can't wait to see how far I can go.
