I love sports and am a very competitive athletic person. I am involved in many sports including volleyball, hockey, rodeo, and track! I would love to be part of a team in college and keep my athletics going in college. I am a very positive, outgoing person with a hard work ethic. I started pole vaulting when I was in 7th grade but my school didn’t offer pole vault so my dad and I decided to make our own pole vaulting pit. We filled big seed bags full of straw (we lived on a farm) and set them up so I had a “soft” landing. He also hand made the box for me to plant in. My 9th grade year my dad bought a really old pit and we put it in our big shed. I pole vaulted on that for a year running on cement. As long as I got to vault that’s all that mattered. The next year, (my sophmore year) my dad was not able to set up the pit that year so we had to compromise. We had met the red river coach awhile back and decided to give him a call. He told us that I could come practice indoors and outdoors with the red river kids! I was so excited about this opportunity to be able to practice in real pits and have a real coach (besides my dad). I drove 35 miles each way just so I could do the sport I loved. I am definitely committed to this sport and would love to continue it. I can’t wait to keep updating my profile because i still have one year to show what I can do!
