Hello, my name is Delainey Goodstein. I am a sophomore at Miami East High School, which I am proud to represent as an athlete in Track and Field. I have a particular fondness for hurdles and long jump, but I also enjoy short to mid-distance sprints. My journey with track only goes back a few years to 8th grade, I joined shortly after leaving my career as a competitive gymnast for Tumble U. After retiring from gymnastics I thought I was done with competitive sports for good, until a friend talked me into joining track. Throughout my first season I found a deep love for track. It felt good to be out running. With help over the past few years from my friends, family, and coaches I've improved greatly. My goals on the collegiate level are, academically, to major in Pre-Med for my Bachelor's degree. On the athletics side of college, I want to run track, hopefully hurdles, sprints, and long jump. Overall, I am looking to further my career and improve myself in the sport I love. I would say I am a good candidate for a college level track team because I am driven, dedicated, and hard-working. I have always pushed for what I wanted no matter how out of reach it felt, and continue to do so on and off the track. What makes me different from other recruits is my connection to my sport, my commitment, perserverance, out-going personality, kindness, understanding, and coachability. I am confident that I could be an excellent addition to your team. Thank you for considering my application.
