Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Kara Sheridan (You probably already know that but you know it's nice to intoduce yourself even if it's through a screen) . As of now I have not chosen a field or major for college. For me it's just so nerve racking to pick something that you have to do for the rest of your life. I tend to really overthink things.                      Some things about me that you might not get from the rest of my profile are:

  •  I love reading
  • My favorite music is by Elton John, ABBA, the Beetles, Queen and basically anything with a beat but not total rap music.
  • My favorite superhero is Wonder Woman in DC and Captain America in Marvel.
  • I have a weird addiction to sunglasses. I always have to have a pair on my head.
  • I feel like I sometimes talk too much sometimes.
  • I have a weird sense of humor on somethings.
  • I say sorry  way too much.
  • I always say thank you and please, it just comes automatically.
  • I hate when people say that "you're so smart Kara ".
  • I really can't spell worth a crap.
  • I'm decent at hard algebra but not simple math which is weird.
  • My favorite color is sky blue.
  • I've played the trombone in band since the 5th grade.
  • I've been in 4-h since I was 8 or 9 ish.
  • I take/n: Rabbits (Mini Rex, Mixed, Cinnamon, New Zealands, and I breed/take Holland Lops), Ducks (Indian Runners and Call Ducks), Chickens (Market Chickens, Silkies, Black Austrolops, Silver Seabrights, and Quail Antwerp Belgium Bantams), Sheep (they're idiots ), Cake Decorating, and Archery to the Athens county fair.
  • One of the reasons I got into Track and Field was because of my old wrestling coach who said "You should do it to stay in shape for next year " and then checked to see who was there for the next two weeks. That's just who he was. No he's not dead (I know what you were thinking in your head ) he's happily married to his wife.
  • My parents are as divorced as they come. They can't even email each other. But you know what is even more ironic, they live on the same road with a hill in between them. Convenient for my sister and me, but still.
  • I'm a humungous procrastinator. I once did a whole American Studies project the day before (without power for most of it) and still aced it.

I work very hard in anything that I do and I don't give up easily. For example, I've worked on my discus spin for 3 years straight, just trying to get it down right. I've even attempted to help the rest of my throwing team with their own form. I also mentored the middle school throwing team last year.

I'm sorry that this was longggggggg, but I'm sure  that you didn't read much of it, it's really okay. I do a lot of stuff. Sorry. I feel like you need to see the whole story in order to make a informed decision. I guess that's what makes me different. I'm too mature but also not at all. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
