My name is Grace Koopmans and I have been a competitive runner pretty much at birth. I love to run, it is my passion. I love the freedom running gives you whether it is in the trails training or on a rubber track. I have been truly blessed to be a competitive runner as running is the basis for all sports. I used to swim competitively, I compete in triathlons every summer and I also play flag football in the fall. I helped our Ultimate Frisbee team qualify for OFSAA last spring.
I would absolutely LOVE the privilege of running at the collegiate level as it has been my goal since I was a little girl to run post-secondary. Running brings me joy as it surrounds me with like-minded peers, it is a lot of fun and it keeps be dedicated and focused on my dreams and school work. I have been on the Honour Roll my freshman and sophmore years. I received MVP accolades in cross country and track and field in June 2022 and I also received the Overall Junior Athlete of the Year Award June 2022.
I am a very motivated and dedicated young lady. As well as training 6 days/week, I work diligently on my studies, work part-time and volunteer with my church in the children's ministry. I feel that I would be a great asset to a cross country and track and field team as I am a hard-worker, motivated, love training, listen and take feedback from my coaches and I especially enjoy having fun with my teammates and am very goal-oriented.
