Since joining Track & Field in the seventh grade I knew I would be in love with the sport forever. Participating in Track has helped me gain so much confidence and helped me accomplish things I never thought I was capable of. I've always thought perseverance was one of my most prominent traits and having the opportunity to compete against myself has taught me the importance of personal growth. I am also a member of my school's dance team. Through the team I have learned how important team unity and hard work is for reaching your goals. My freshman year the dance team won a state championship. From that experience I learned that anything is possible if you want it badly enough and work hard to accomplish it. I have applied this knowledge to track over the years and have seen my hard work pay off. I am now a senior captain on the dance team and have been told I have a bright spirit and my leadership positively influences my teammates. The pandemic has taken a toll on my sport's seasons the last two years but I still put my best foot forward and ended up qualifying for the district competition. I know that I have the potential to meet my goals and have great improvements this season through my hard work and productive spirit. Continuing track in college would mean a lot to me because I would be able to continue meeting my goals and compete in the sport I love while having an impact on my new teammates, and cultivate strong relationships where I can demonstrate my leadership. I love the experiences Track & Field delivers on both the team and personal aspects, and would be honored to create new athletic milestones and watch my team succeed.
