I am currently a 3 sport athlete with an aspiration to participate in track in college. I did well in my freshman year and placed first in the 100m and 300m hurdles and 2nd in the 100m at our state meet.
Unfortunately, I have experienced injuries in the past couple of years making my sophomore and junior years challenging. This past year, I had the fastest hurdle times in the state halfway through the season, and I started having issues with my hamstring. I eventually pulled my hamstring, and I wasn't able to participate in the hurdles at the state meet. Through these struggles, I have learned how to deal with adversity, I have learned perseverance, and I have learned to never give up. I am determined to come back stronger than ever and am going to participate in indoor track to better prepare myself for the outdoor season.
On the positive side, I was able to try different events this year, and I feel like I have the skill set to become a very strong pentathlete and heptathlete. My coaches and I are committed to further developing these skills in the upcoming year. Thus far, I have had limited exposure to the various events, and I'm excited to develop my skills and become a better mutli's athlete.
