I run cross country and track. I am a distance specialist, and cross country is my main sport.
In track I run the 3200m and the 1600m, I would prefer to run longer distances in track but PIAA doesn't offer a 5K track event. I enjoy running the 10K distance the most, and would like to try a marathon someday. My times have drastically dropped this current track season, and I have been timed at a 20:19 5K in this XC off season. I qualified for the PIAA State XC race in 2019, and unfortunately I was sick the day of the 2020 District X meet.
Other than Cross Country and track, I am also an honor roll student, in the National Honor Society, and I am a mentor in the mentorship program at our school. I sing in the choir at school, and I am one of the class of 2022 officers (class historian).
I am focused and determined, and while I am very competitive, I know there are faster times out there. I believe that longer distances suit me better than a 5K, although I do enjoy running the 5K. I believe that having a medical disability has made me a more competitive athlete, and has given me more focus and determination than most of my peers.
