I am very fortunate to attend Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy where I have found a super network of friends, faculty, and coaches who embrace high levels of success in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere with a personal community feel. Being in a small private school has it's advantages, like the community feel, however, it's been challenging not having the equipment to practice , like a jumping pit, to really hone my skills in track and field. Despite this, I am most proud of my triple jump PR and I strive to improve on my jumps techniques (TJ/LJ) and hurdle times each time I practice or compete. I enjoy the feeling of responsibility, respect, and teamwork in the sport of track and field. This sport has taught me how to push through difficult times, find determination within myself, be creative and flexible with drills, and overall become mentally strong. My team elected me captain this year because I have a way of bringing positive energy and enthusiasm, even when it gets tough, to both practices and meets. The combination of my positivity and my leadership skills help to bring the team together and to a higher performance level. I've also become very good at balancing my academics and extracurricular activities. Indoor track overlaps with my competitive gymnastics schedule and that forces me to be very focused and disciplined to keep my grades up and to perform to the best of my ability during my athletic activities . I'm told that successfully maintaining this type of schedule now, is preparing me for college. I believe that I would be a great addition to your team academically, in my performance on the track and field, and as an individual with high character and integrity. I look forward to achieving my highest potential and advancing my skills in college, both in the classroom and on the track. I'm excited to hear from you!
