I started cross country as a fluke in 7th grade. I was going to join soccer, then realized it was co-Ed and decided to go for cross country instead. My first years of cross country made me love the sport and the people. I didn’t become successful in the sport until my freshmen year, then I really fell head over heels. This sport made me realize that I can do much more than I thought ever possible, and I think I will continue to run for the rest of my life. Unfortunately high school is going by fast, and eventually will be over. So, I am looking forward to preserving my time in a team cross country setting in college. This sport is more than just my hobbie. That may sound cheesy and unoriginal, but I truly have no other way to explain it. My goals are set high for my Highschool career, I want to break 19 in the 5k and I want to sub 5:20 in the 1600 meters. If those two goals are not met by the end of my senior year, I will have goals already set for college. My goals acidemically are always the same, put education above everything and don’t fail. Anyway, I want to break the professional sounding barrier here really quickly and say thank you for reading this very long statement and I hope you have a good day.
