I am a junior this 2013/2014 school year at Great Valley High School located in Malvern, Pennsylvania. I just finished an exciting Spring track season, in which my team took first in our conference. My 4x800 relay team had school-record finish of 8:56 at the PIAA state meet. This gave us a bronze medal and #4 all-time best in PA and current #4 US. I now lead off our relay, and I won my leg with a 2:13 split.
I have been running cross country for three years and track for five years. Throughout my high school career, I have been successful both individually and with my relay team. As a freshman, my 4x800 relay team finished 6th place at the PIAA outdoor state championships. I ran the anchor leg with a time of 2:15. As a sophomore, my 4x800 relay became indoor state champions, and outdoor runner ups. Our indoor Distance Medley Relay was also all-state second team. At nationals, we ran a 9:09 and became 5th place all-American. At the Penn Relays in the spring, we ran a 9:10 in the Championship of America race to capture 5th place. I anchored all of these relays with a PR at the Penn Relays of 2:14. In the indoor season of junior year, my 4x800 relay team ran a 9:11 at the State Championships to come in second.
Individually, I tend to focus on the mile, where my personal best is a 5:02.
I have a 3.9 GPA and have been enrolled in two AP classes and four honors classes. I have taken the SATs once, and scored an 1840. I am looking to take them again in June, and possibly one final time in the fall of senior year, along with subject testing. Senior year, I will be taking AP English, AP Calculus, AP Government/Macro Economics, AP Art, and Honors Biology 2, along with continuing to run all three seasons.
I am also currently the captain of the Spring Track team, and have been elected as captain for the 2014 Cross Country team.
This summer I am heading to South Dakota with my church youth group to complete my third mission trip.
