2021 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Struggles in my life have caused me to grow mentally and spiritually strong. I face challenges without fear but excitement. My ultimate goal is to bring others up with my talents so being a part of a team, whatever type it might be, is very important to me. My spirit has pushed me to academic and athletic achievement independently but I am very eager to have a coach and mentor help me reach my full potential.
I am the last person to count myself out. This year, at the state meet, I was seeded in the 20s. No one suspected I would be a contender. I placed 7th in the qualifiers with a time breaking my previous time by over a second. I ended up on the podium.
It's not over until I run my race and I keep that mentality through everything I do.

- Max Squat: one rep of 275lbs/Max Bench: one rep of 135 lbs I've been in the gym seriously increasing strength for 4 months now. I've been consistently repping 240 in order to reach my squat goal of 300 lbs by the end of the 2022 indoor season. I also plan on benching body weight before spring. I have yet to max out on deadlift but I comfortably rep 225 lbs. I just started this year and I plan on building incredible strength during the winter season so when I start running in the spring I have a lower risk of injury and can translate my strength into speed.
