Ever since I was a little girl I always dreamed of playing a sport in college and being able to balance athletics and academics. Going into high school I heard about our track and field team, and thought why not give it a go and hope for the best. I ended up not only shocking my coaches by my dedication and hard work I put into practice for our meets, but also myself. I started off with just running the 400m and became our fastest 400m female runner my freshman year which then move me into our 4X4 relay team and being the last runner in our relay team. I knew I did not want to just run the 400m in track and decided to pick up pole vaulting. I believe that I am capable to excel in many events and hope to carry out my passion on my next team. While I am focusing on track and improving as the season goes on, I also take my academics very seriously as well as keeping close friendships with people that are on a team with me and those who I just see everyday in a classroom.
