My love for running started very early. I started running in track meets when I was seven years old. All through my childhood I stayed busy playing multiple sports including basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, and figure skating. Throughout my experiences with these sports, I have had so much support from my family, friends, and coaches that have influenced me to this day. With this support, hard work, and dedication, I qualified for six USATF National Championships since I started competing. During my 9th-grade indoor track and field season in 2019, I placed in WPIALS and Qualified for State Championships. This past season of my outdoor track and field season in 2021, I won WPIALS in the 100m and placed third in the 200m while competing in my school relay teams for the 4x100 and 4x400. I continued to place 5th and 8th at the State Championships in the 100m and 200m.
Having experience throughout the track and field journey I have grown to love the commitment and effort it takes to push myself. This journey also comes with lots of struggle and discouragement. I know that with having faith in the Lord I can accomplish anything. A very important part of this journey is my faith. My faith provides me with hope and strength every day. I would consider myself to be a very caring and loving person. I love to create things with my hands, whether it’s painting, drawing, or making jewelry.
My academic goals for the next three years of high school is to study proficiently and not just learn straight from the books, but to take the knowledge I learn throughout these next couple of years and carry it with me as a lifetime learning experience.
As you may know, my 2020 Track and Field season got canceled. It was more challenging for me to stay active and try to get in shape when both the spring and summer seasons were canceled. I have learned how to stay focused and train independently. I have learned how to push myself and become much more determined than I have ever been. I am looking for a program that will challenge and push me to be my best self academically and athletically. I will put all my time and effort into being the best I can possibly be.
