Demi Marcks '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I am Demi Marcks. I have been involved in running long-distance track and cross country since the beginning of my high school career, however, I only recently discovered the beauty of short-distance track during the 2022 outdoor season (my sophomore year). During this short amount of time, I ran the 400m and went on to qualify for RIIL State Championships at Brown University. As I head into my Junior year of track, I am excited to watch my PRs go down and discover so much more hidden potential within myself. To me, the track is a place where I can not only better myself, but also the people around me; I have met so many amazing people and made everlasting friendships through this sport, and can't wait to continue this in college! I also run cross-country where we won the Class B Championships, JV States, and States, and qualified for New Englands. Growing up being the oldest of four kids, I have always been heavily associated with not only leadership and the ability to take on responsibilities, but also humbleness and reliability. Although I am still unsure what I want to major in, I have always been interested in technology and medicine, so I am looking for a school not only with a strong athletic department but also a strong academic department.
