Hello, my name is Thalia Solis. I have been running track since I was 12 years old and I've been hooked ever since. My dad was a former student-athlete at Texas Tech University, and he has been a huge support to me in reaching all of my track goals. I am a 3x UIL 4A State champ, as well as being a 2x AAU All-American. I have competed in AAU Junior Olympics two years in a row. I am super expectant in all God is going to do in my upcoming senior season. I also look forward to competing in college as I know this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.
I am a strong runner, with great mental toughness and always eager to learn great technique. I am a leader on and off of the track, leading by example and encouraging others. I strive to be one of the hardest-working athletes and one of the hardest-working recruits you'll find. Year-round, I train to be the best I possibly can be. Alongside school track, for the past several years, I have been a part of Leander Spartans AAU Track Club, and in the summer, I work with Coach Mo's Elite Fitness, which has all contributed to my performance.
In the classroom, I strive to maintain a high GPA. I have been taking college courses since I was 14 years old and will graduate with my Associate in Science degree in May of this year. I was also selected as Academic All-State 3x. I have been inducted into the National Honors Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, and the National Hispanic Honors Society. I am a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club, and Leo Club, and I am also Secretary of the Student Council and Vice President of SKILLS USA. When I am not in the classroom or on the track, I am volunteering at my local church with youth ministry.
I strive to attend a college where I can push myself and surround myself with teammates who have likeminded thinking. I am open to all options and ultimately hope to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become an inspiration and role model to all of my peers and make my parents proud.
