To be a college athlete is something that I had only dreamed about when I was younger, but since then I have worked hard to make that dream a potential reality. I would love the chance to become a college athlete because it is a wonderful opportunity to get my education paid for, pursue the sport I have devoted my time to, and to make my family proud.
I would consider myself a great asset to have on any running program because I have certain qualities that cant be taught by a coach. I am a very self driven person in everything I do and that is what helps define me as a competitive athlete and sets me apart from others. Academically, I maintain a 4.1 GPA and am currently ranked 5th in my class out of 400 students. I am involved in many organizations such as National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Student Council, Taking Over Kids Cancer (TOKC) Club, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Club), the Academic Decathlon Team, and the KEDT Challenge Team. Running-wise, I am the captain of the Varsity Cross Country Team at my school as well as captain of the distance runners on the Varsity Track Team. I have been on the varsity teams in both cross country and track since my freshman year and have qualified for Area once, Regionals twice, and once to the State Championship this pasts season individually. As a well rounded student athlete, I bring a lot to the table for any running program.
In college I want to study biomedical engineering so my top priority when looking at schools is making sure they have that program available to me. I am open to attending schools anywhere in the southern region of the United States (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, etc.).
