I am an incoming senior at Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, Texas. I started throwing in the middle of my sophomore year in high school. During my sophomore and junior year I qualified for state in TAPPS and placed 2nd in discus and 8th in shot put both years. In 2018 I joined a club called The Throwing Factory and placed 7th in discus at USATF Region 12 Championships. This experience really motivated me and made me realize that I love throwing and wanted to continue doing it in college. In 2019 I qualified for the USATF National Meet in discus and qualified for the AAU National Meet in discus and shot put. I placed 13th in discus at USATF Nationals and I learned through this experience that I am capable of so much more than I thought and that I could be a really great thrower some day. I recently started throwing hammer this summer as well. I just started rotational shot put in January 2019 but I’ve been improving greatly and working hard everyday. My current PR’s are discus 136’8”, shot put 35’9”, and hammer is right around 100’. My goals for my senior year are to break the TAPPS state record in discus which is over 153’, win Texas Relays, and win state in both shot and disc. My long term goal is to get a good, solid education and win a National Championship in a throwing event. I haven’t thrown for very long but I know how to compete in such high pressures against some of the best throwers in the country. I’ve held my own and pushed myself to be the best athlete that I can be and I’m still going. Through adversity I have persevered and shown many people that I don’t quit and I won’t give up. In about 4-5 years I’ll be scoring points for “someone” in a conference meet. I believe that I have a lot of potential for success and my talents and skills will get me what I deserve. As far as academics go I am a very good student with a 4.0 gpa and a 1050 SAT score which I will be taking again in August. Overall I am a hard worker in and out of the classroom. I am diligent and I put forth energy and effort in everything I do. I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me to get my name out there. Hopefully I can get a chance to learn more about you, your school, and your track program.
