When I was in the 7th grade, my basketball coach encouraged me to start throwing. I was a little skeptical at first because I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I tried throwing and realized I was good at it and at my first (middle school) meet I placed. The feeling I got from placing kept me throwing and I have been doing it ever since. Every time I place or win, I am grateful that I listened to my 7th grade basketball coach.
Through throwing, I have became more independent and focused. I strive to do my absolute best in the ring and in school, so I can be successful in both. My focus has made me stronger mentally and physically. I push myself beyond my limits in practice to perform at my best in the ring and that carries over into the classroom.
I plan on maintaining and maybe even raising my weighted and unweighted GPA during my senior year. I am going to remained focused, study hard, and strive for all A's. This summer and early in the fall, I am going to work hard to improve my test scores (ACT/SAT). In college, I am going to hit the books hard and buckle down, so that I may be as successful as I was in high school. I want to graduate college learning all the things possible for my career and in life and with a high GPA.
