I started running when I was in 7th grade. As a young girl joining a new sport, I never would've imagined how running cross country and track would become such a big part of my life. I found this untapped passion for running as I grew older. I have found myself loving this sport so much that I feel no pressure and stress free when I'm out there running.
Education was a struggle for me when I was younger. My father helped me with my studies and taught me new study techniques to improve my grades. He explained to me that if I wanted to run into my collegiate years, that I would have to put as much effort into my studies as I did into running. I have worked hard on my studies and have improved my grades drastically from where they were before.
I have always understood the team concept and how we all have a job on that track. In order to be successful as a team, we must hold each other accountable as a team and that we must lift each other up as well when one of us falls. We will never be successful as a team unless we work together.
In order to be successful in this life, I need to have a good education. I'm looking for a university that can offer that education while participating in the sport I love. All I need is an opportunity to prove myself. If given that opportunity, I know I will be successful on and off the track.
