My track journey began at the age of 11 after watching my older brother run summer track. I was always told I ran fast, but at the time competitive cheerleading was what I enjoyed doing and I didn't care much about track. I remember attending track practice with my older brother and some of the boys my age would be racing and I would take off my shoes and join in. They did not like it much that I would not only run with no shoes on, but I also beat them in the race. About two years later, after my cheer season had ended, I asked my mom if I could run summer track. After contacting a couple of track clubs to see if they were still taking athletes, Track Houston was the only club still taking kids under middle school age. 6 years later, I am still running with this track club. I have attended the Junior Olympics every summer that I have ran summer track. I am 2011 Gulf Coast 400m Champion, a 2011 Region 12 400m Champion, 2012 AAU Area 19 National Qualifier 400 Champion. Unfortunately I have come short of the finals at the Junior Olympics. I am Cy-Fair ISD 7th grade 200 and 400m District Champ. I have the 7th grade CFISD 400m record and the Cy-Ridge HS 400m record.
I truly love and enjoy running track. I am a junior at Cy-Ridge HS. I am working hard this year to accomplish 2 goals, 1 is to get on the medal stand in the 400m at the Junior Olympics and to make it to the UIL State track meet this year. My ultimate goal is attend college on a track scholarship and major in Physical Therapy. I am working very hard in the classroom also to make sure that I maintain good grades. All my hard work on the track mean nothing if I'm not getting things done in the classroom.
