I started running Track and Field in the 7th grade, first as a short sprinter only running the 100m and 200m. After a successful season, I discovered that my passion was running and after investigation, my coach referred me to a club, The Leander Spartans. From my first day there I fell in love even further with not only the sport but the familial environment it brings. After that day, I had a family that shared my passion and drove me to work harder and I've been there ever since. In my first year, I learned fairly quickly that I wasn't as strong in short sprinting like the 100 but excelled in the 200 and after watching me closely, one of my coaches suggested that I try the 400. That quickly became my race and I have only worked harder and gotten faster since then.
As a participant in the International Baccalaureate Programme at Leander High School, I know what it means to not only work hard but to achieve goals and challenge myself. This programme is similar to AP courses in the sense that my classes are rigorous and college level but IB has a different way of learning. Instead of just finding an answer, I analyze its meaning and significance in every class. In this way, I push myself to learn in a new and stimulating way so that I may learn not only content but a little more.
After high school, I want to become an Obstetrician-Gynecologist. Even from when I was young I decided I wanted to be a doctor but I want to be an OBGYN specifically to help women through the journey in which will change their life forever.
