As a Freshman in 2018, I became a member of the Varsity track team at George Ranch High School, a 6A school in District 23, Region 3, located in Richmond, TX just outside of Houston. I have participated in pole vault, the 200M, the 400M, the 800M, the 4x200M, the 4x400M, the 4x800M, the SMR and the DMR. Our DMR team qualified for Texas Relays and we finished 11th. I qualified for Area at the District Meet and broke my own school record in the 800M with a 2:20 at the Area Meet. I ran on the 4x200M relay at the Region Prelims and helped my team qualify for the Region Finals. I run the mile in 5:50, the 400M in 60, the 200M in 25 and the 100M in 12.
I condition with a trainer during the summers, winter and spring breaks. I also enjoy playing beach volleyball, and have played club and school volleyball for 4 years. I began playing soccer at 5 because I was too young to join track, and played club soccer for 9 years. Soccer has prepared me to excel in track. I am fortunate to have athletic ability, but my drive and determination to be the best when I condition and participate in any of my sports is what separates me from the rest. I promise I am coachable and will work hard!
As a member of National Junior Honor Society, I maintained an “A” average and had 4 high school credits before entering my Freshman year. I am interested in attending a college that will allow me to study either psychology, exercise science, kinesiology or biology while running track. I plan to pursue occupational therapy, physical therapy or chiropractic after I finish my undergraduate degree.
