I did cross country in middle school but I realized that I am better at shorter distance running so I joined the track team at Brighton high school. I started trying hurdles and running the 100m and 300m hurdles at practice meets. I immediately realized my love for track. As a sophomore I attended many Saturday invitationals and placed regularly. At region I placed top four in all four events I ran (100m dash, 100m hurdles, 4 by 100m relay, 300m hurdles), qualifying for state in all of them! At the state championship meet, besides the fact that the weather was cold and rainy, I ended up falling for the first time in both of my hurdle races. I refuse to let myself make those same mistakes again as I progress through my junior year. I am a good candidate for college track teams because I am determined, dedicated, and have a strong desire push myself to my fullest potential. I take criticism well and use tips from coaches or other athletes to help me improve in any way possible. Besides being an honors student, I am a hard working student and I take college level AP classes every year. I love to learn and value education.
