Emerald Kehr '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Emerald Kehr and I love to train and compete. I am happy to have signed to run at Louisiana State University starting in XC 2024.  I just finished running with great teammates and coaches on the new Salt Lake Community College XC team.

I train hard and enjoy competing in both Cross Country and Track and Field. I support my teammates and encourage positive mindsets. I had a 3.9 high school Cumulative GPA at West High School in Salt Lake City, UT, graduating in 2023.  

I ran Varsity XC and T&F all four years of high school and was a team captain for both teams. I am the 2022 USATF Utah State 800M Champion and Region (UT, ID, WY, MT) 800M Champion. I finished 13th at the 2022 USATF Junior Olympics National Championship in the 800M. As a Sophomore.  I was the “Rookie of the Year” on the Girls Varsity Wrestling team. I was raised in a Marine Corps family and have travelled and  lived around and outside the US. I completed 2.5 years of JROTC and was second-in-command for a year. I won the 2019 JROTC Orienteering-XC UT State Championship. I was part of the Civil Air Patrol where I have completed five training flights. 

I love running, flying, skiing, weight lifting, traveling, and art. My goal is to continuously improve my times and to run/compete in Division 1 athletics.  Coaches have stated that I have grit and I am coachable.
