Issabella Marulli '23 Recruiting Profile

My coaches, parents, and best friends have all been a huge influence on my track career so far. But, I wouldn't be doing any of this if it wasn't for my 8th grade gym teacher. She always told me that I looked fast, so I decided to join the middle school track team, and ever since then I have been in love with this sport. One of my greatest accomplishments was competing at the Virginia state track meet, and winning! These  past few years have been super difficult for everyone, and having a canceled 2020 spring season was one of my biggest obstacles. This time off from competing allowed me to better myself physically and mentally, and shaped me to be the athlete I am today. 

While playing this sport, not only have I learned that I am super competitive, but I have learned that the team setting brings out my real personality, that I don't see while in school or at home.  Being around people that have the same drive and mentality as I do allows me to push myself harder, causing me to give my 110% percent every practice.
