Beginning to run in sixth grade has shaped me into the person I am today. I feel that track and cross country are a very important part of my life, and it would be amazing to take my running career to a higher level. Being able to run after high school would be a dream, due to the fact that I will be the first in my family to represent a college in athletics. I am extremely dedicated to my sport, being the captain of both the girls cross country and distance track teams. I am always looking for ways to help my teammates perform at their best and achieve any successes they are seeking. As a captain, I can be counted on to be a good role model that others can look to when they are in need. Another aspect of my dedication to my sport is that I am responsible, always following the instructions of my coaches and being sure to attend every practice. Not only am I dedicated on the track, I am dedicated in the classroom as well. This year, my junior year, I have achieved straight As in the first quarter and have maintained my GPA of 4.1 with a balanced load of advanced classes. Each day, as I get closer to graduation, I envision the atmosphere of my future school and team. I’m hoping to build a strong relationship with my college teammates and coaches. Also, I am hoping to be challenged both academically and athletically. I am looking forward to continue growing and reaching more of my goals throughout the rest of my junior year and the entirety of my senior year.
