Running has been a big part of my life ever since I joined my school cross country team in eighth grade. Being the youngest of my siblings I sometimes feel as though I can be overshadowed by their accomplishments. I was tired of getting questions like: Are you going to play basketball like your sister? Do you play basketball as well as your sister? Why don't you play a sport? So decided to tryout for my own sport. cross country was the first sport I had ever tried out for. The first day of try outs was brutal. I'll be honest, I hated running at first. But as I got a feel for what it felt like to be on a team and to have so many people supporting me, I grew to love the sport and I can't picture my life without it. I am now also on the indoor and outdoor track teams.
My biggest accomplishment since then has been being able to maintain my spot as one of the top seven runners on the team and making it to states this year in cross country. My team placed 4th overall. Since making it to states I've had the the realization that going to college and running could be a viable option for me. I Love running now and I can't picture my self stopping anytime soon so why not continue in college? I really hope to get a scholarship to run in college because I not only think it would help make me maintain my health but I also think it would be a crutch foe me in maintaining my grades and great stress reviler, I mean it already thus proven that for me now in high school.
