Going the extra mile, working hard, and juggling a busy schedule are part of my daily life. Participating in multiple sports each semester is a challenge, but something I have worked hard at all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I run cross country, indoor/outdoor track, and play basketball. Several occasions my parents ran me from a track meet to a basketball game in one afternoon. I began practicing track/field events in 6th grade for middle school track, but would also practice with my older brother with his high school coach right after finishing up my practice. I have put in the extra time needed to before school in the weight room to gain length and speed for outdoor track this year. My freshman year I was long jumping 15ft 5in and this year I have gained 2 feet already. I participate in TJ, LJ, HJ, and hurdles. I have participated in the VHSL state competition as both a freshman and now as a sophomore. In basketball, I go to the extra practices and put in the extra time needed to be the best teammate. I also participate on a travel team, Bristol Pistols. I am competitive, but remain calm in competition. I am fueled by an internal motivation to be the best and do my best, or maybe I am just a little too competitive, probably both. I hurt my hip during my 2021/2022 cross country season, having to receive PT for my recovery. That is when I knew I wanted to be a physical therapist. I have always leaned toward something in the medical field, but hadn't solidly decided until this experience.
