Addison Gherke '24 Recruiting Profile

I am currently enrolled as a Senior at Parkersburg High School and training for my upcoming tenth season of track and field. I've been in track since third grade and have always had a passion for competing. I am extremely dedicated and always willing to work hard for what I want. My previous and current coaches have always described me as a competitor who is willing to step in wherever I'm needed. When it comes to running on the college level, it is my goal to continue challenging myself and obtain new life experiences. I plan on running the 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles and anything else I am needed for. Off the track, I am interested in Environmental Science and working with the impact of pollution globally. Ultimately, I am wanting the opportunity to learn more about myself as an athlete and a student, and to strive to be the best version of myself in both. As Michelangelo once said, "The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting out aim too low, and achieving our mark."
