I haven't always been a runner. I began as a softball player. I played competitively on club teams since I was eleven and was always one of the fastest kids on the team. That's when I decided to join track in 7th grade. I did very well running the 400m dash and the coach convinced me to join the cross country team in 8th grade. Since then, I have fallen in love with running. One of my favorite parts is the ability to work independently but still work as a team. Running has taught me that thinking positively will take me far. This especially helped with my academics, I find enjoyment in learning and work very hard for my grades.
I have many goals for the near future. A few of these goals include graduating high school with honors, getting accepted to a college that will challenge me both academically and athletically, and pushing myself and my teammates or peers to set high goals and work hard to achieve those goals. I truly believe that if you set your mind to something, you can do anything.
