Personal Statement

Ever since 5th grade, running has been something I have held near and dear to my heart. Running makes me feel the happiest in life, and I have always truly loved running. With running comes strong mental ability and leadership skills, which I feel I possess. During my freshman year of high school, my cross country team was one spot away from qualifying for the state meet. This was devastating, and I remember telling myself that from that point on, I would always give 100% effort and try to speak out more on my team, as I was shy and quiet. I became one of the leaders on my team, and the next year we qualified for state. It was one of the best moments of my life, and I continue to bring my team closer together and make sure we work and run as one unified group.

Once I graduate from high school, my goal is to continue on with my leadership skills, and put myself in a comfortable position right from the very start. I plan to be vocal with my team and with my coaches, and to get adjusted to the college workouts as quickly as possible. While running is important, school will always come first. I plan to spend a lot of time on studying and keeping a steady work schedule, and focusing on good grades for my end result. Grades have always mattered a lot to me, so it will be crucial that I balance my athletic perseverance with academic success. I have always been an outgoing and persistent person, and I will never settle for less than the best. This is why I chose to take leadership on my sports teams and to take my schoolwork very seriously. If I were on your team, I would guarantee to listen to instructions, give my absolute best effort during practices and races, and to keep my grades up to an acceptable standard. I will prove myself valuable both in the classroom and on the course, and I will not disappoint.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
