As I'm starting to look further into my future, it is evident that I have very big aspirations when it comes to competing at a high level in college track and cross country. The ultimate goal is to compete at a D1 college where I can run with some of the best athletes in the country and see what my body is capable of with the right training and environment. However, I want to be able to academically thrive as well and put myself in a good position for the future. Even though I didn't start running as early as some runners, my passion for it isn't lacking and it continues to grow the more I learn about the sport itself. I believe that I'd be a great asset to any team because not only am I driven and work-oriented, but I pride myself in pushing my teammates to perform their best and creating memorable bonds along the way.
From a young age, I have been involved in almost every sport you could think of which is what brings out my competitive edge with any competition I'm in. As of right now, I'm a multi-sport athlete, participating in cross country, track and field, basketball, and softball. Although my primary goal is to compete in running, basketball and softball have always been a key part in my life especially with the discipline and teamwork I've obtained. I had a very successful 2023 Track and Field season with significantly dropping my 1600 and 800 times to 4.59.88 and 2:16.65, and I can't wait to continue at improve on them even more. This season was primarily focused on not only individually improving my times and breaking school records, but also aiding my other teammates in relays such as the 4x8 and 4x4 which led to qualifying and placing in state. I think what makes me different is my character and attitude that I bring to the table. The way I carry myself is very humble because I know what I'm capable of and understand that I can compete with anyone on the track if I just trust myself and the training I put in.
Academically wise, I take a lot of pride in my grades and making sure I not only put in effort on the track, but also in the class room. As of right now, I'm ranked #1 in my class out of 100 students, and have a 4.33 GPA which has lead to multiple class awards. This upcoming junior year, I plan on taking AP classes to further enhance my education as well.
I'm sure there are thousands of high school students that have the same goals as me to run at such an elite and high level, but that doesn't stop me from continuing to work hard, focusing on how I can improve individually, and potentially be a great fit for a future college team.
