Shylene Ashihi '25 Recruiting Profile

    My collegiate goals are getting my associates or higher and improving my skills in the sport I love. My aspiration is to represent my people and hoping they could go far in life and have dreams like I do. It also feels like if I take this big step and never quite, I can imagine myself playing in an All-American  Volleyball match and kids back on the Navajo Nation being inspired by me. Everyone is unique in their own way, and what makes me unique is helping my people being recognize by doing something I truly love. Athletic wise is helping others and wanting to support the team I am going to be in, not stopping until I achieve my goals, and improve a lot by getting back up when I make a mistake. Academics wise, although I procrastinate a lot, my motivation will be volleyball. For an example, when my coach tells me if I really want to play more, I'm going to need focus on school first before sports.
