My first year of club was one to remember. I made the top team at my club and we ended up going to the Girls Junior National Championship. I did not get a ton of court time, but I really learned a lot about the game. Still, I cheered just as raucously for my teammates from the sidelines as I did when I was on the court. I was devastated when I was cut from the team the following year. However, the experience made me realize how much I wanted to pursue the sport I had come to love. I dedicated myself to learning as much as I could about the game, watching game film, college games, and skills videos to improve my understanding. I overhauled my nutrition habits and began a home conditioning program. My efforts paid off when I was selected for the team the following year.
I am looking to join a program that will support my academic goals while allowing me to pursue my athletic dreams. I have faced rejection. I am not afraid. I understand the value of hard work and commitment to a goal. I am very work-driven; I continuously set goals and then pursue them with unwavering determination. I also bring enormous amounts of positive energy with me. I want to support and lift my teammates up. I want to be a part of a program that will continue to push me towards growth in all areas of my life.
