Personal Statement

In my senior year in high school (2021 season), I was honored to be voted team Captain and team MVP and helped lead my team to victory in the 5A State Championship.  I broke Horizon’s single-season assist record with 1,112 assists.  I was named the PVUSD Player of the Year, selected to the 5A Conference First Team, and was named to the All-Arizona team by the Arizona Republic, which also recognized me as the “the best setter in the state.”  Prepvolleyball named me an Honorable Mention All American.  In my junior year, I started every set for Horizon, and was named the Northeast Valley Region Player of the Year,  Northeast Valley Region First Team and the 5A Conference (all state) First Team.  I was honored to be elected a team Captain in 2020 and was also voted my team's Most Valuable Player.  I led my team in assists and digs. We made it to the Quarterfinals of the State tournament.  In 2019, I started every set and was also selected to the 5A Conference First Team.   In 2018, I made Varsity as a freshman and played in 24 matches.

In 2019 in Club, my team won the 2019 USAV GJNC National Championship in 15 American and I was named the Tournament MVP by USA Volleyball.  We went 11-0 and I was honored to serve as a team captain.  Prepvolleyball.com named me a “Supernova” and reported "a phenomenal setter, the talented youth never let up in leading the Phoenix, Arizona team to the national championship."  (https://prepvolleyball.com/articles/club-articles/club-features/usav-15-club-star-search-day-4/420993). Prepvolleyball.com also named me a Second Team All American for 15 Club.  Our 2020 club season was cut short because of Coronavirus.  In our 2021 Club season, we came in 5th Place at GJNC in the 17 National Division. On my club team in 2018, we qualified and competed in 14 Open at GJNC and I was named my team's Most Valuable Player.

I also enjoy playing sand volleyball.  In 2019 summer, my sand partners and I played in beach volleyball national championships at USAV in 16 Open (Manhattan Beach; 33rd Place overall), AVP First 16 Open (17th Place overall; Hermosa Beach), and AAU Nationals (9th place overall in 15 Open; Hermosa).

As hard as I work at volleyball, I work just as hard at my schoolwork.  Each of the last three years, I was a First Team Selection to the All Arizona Academic Volleyball Team.  I have a 4.30 GPA in my first three years (weighted) at Horizon, while taking all Honors classes.

I hope you can come see me play sometime soon!  Keira Hall

PS: Update - in June 2020 I verbally committed to Northern Arizona University!

PPS:  I signed my letter of intent to play at NAU in November 2021!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
