Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile information. I am going to be a senior at Horizon High in Scottsdale, AZ and will be graduating in 2018. Here is a little of my volleyball history:
High School: Horizon High School/ OH/Varsity player freshman ,sophomore and junior year. Was the only freshman to make the varsity team and was a starter that played all the way around my sophomore and junior year. Won the Principal's award and also won the honor of Paradise Valley all District Volleyball Team, First Team recognition my sophomore and junior year.
CLUB INFO: Have played at AZ Sky for 8 years and on the 1's (Gold) team for 7 of those years. Our team has qualified for National's every year. Our 14's team won the USA SO CAL tourney and took 2nd (another USA bid) in Reno. Our 17's team won the SCVA qualifier. I am an OH that plays all the way around and I have been the court captain and captain of my team for the last two years (15's and 16's).
High Performance: I have played on the AZ High Performance team for the last two years and competed in the USA tournament against teams from other countries and the USA HP teams. Our teams did very well and finished in the gold division. This past year I represented our team as a libero. I also attended the High Performance Camp in Oklahoma in 2013 as an OH, was selected as an OH for the A2 camp in 2014 as an OH and was selected for the A2camp in 2015 as a libero. I attended the High Performance camp in Colorado at the Olympic Training Center this past December at the High Performance Holiday Camp.
I have always loved the game, both indoor and sand. I think it is the friendships that I have made with so many girls around the US and Puerto Rico that I remember the most and appreciate. The sport is not only fun but it is challenging and not only do you physically have to be present but also mentally. My coaches have taught me so much that I can use on and off the court. I know college is about the academics and that is why I want to try and get some kind of scholarship academically and athletically. I don't know if I can afford college otherwise and I really want to pursue my passion for writing. I hope to major in journalism or psychology.
I enjoy writing and reading in my down time. I also exercise, hike and listen to music when I am not at practice or in school. I have been blessed to have a fun family, close family and lots of friends that are so good.
I am looking forward to the future and really hope that volleyball is a part of it.
