I started playing volleyball when I was in the fourth grade. Throughout these years I have learned new things about myself and have gained many friends through this sport. It's for those reasons why I am thankful for and love the sport and why I would like the opportunity to play in college.
I view myself as a disciplined, determined, focused, and an emotionally mature athlete. When on the court, I always know where my teammates are supposed to be in the rotation and I make sure that I don't get into my head after a bad play for the sake of my team. For any college program, I feel as if I can bring the knowledge and awareness of volleyball rules and regulations and a strong mental capacity to ensure competitiveness and both personal and team growth. I learned at a young age from a gymnastics coach that the word "can't" should not be a part of an athletes vocabulary. I believe the drive to succeed is vital in sports as well as in life in general. I will strive to do my best not only for myself but for the sake of my team.
