I am a 5"8' setter from Piggott, Arkansas. I have been the captain and a starter on the Senior High (Varsity) volleyball team for the past two years. I was named 3A Conference All-State and MVP as a sophomore. This season I earned 1st team 3A Conference All-State and was named an ACVA Phenom amongst other local awards.
My high school transcript for the 2018 Fall Semester has not been released, but my transcript from end of my sophomore year shows that I had a 3.71 gpa in non-weighted class and a 3.75 gpa in weighted classes. Along with my college preparatory high school classes, I took 2 college dual credit classes from Arkansas Tech.
I value my education and playing volleyball. I would like to continue to play volleyball in college while I pursue my degree in either in the Business field or in Education and Coaching. I am very involved in FBLA, this year being the Secretary of our chapter. The past two years I have won at the State Level and qualified to compete at the National Level. I am also involved in FCCLA, BETA, Basketball, Track, and Softball. I also enjoy volunteering in our Little League programs. I am a volunteer basketball, volleyball, and softball coach as well as a volunteer umpire and referee. I firmly believe that volunteering my time to teach our young children which in turn helps build our future athletes is very important.
I want a balance in my academic and athletic career. They are both very important to me and I take both very seriously. I am capable of balancing my education and athletics as I do that now, plus I have a job that I work several nights a week while maintaining a positive gpa.
As a setter and team captain, I lead my team in good times and bad. I am a hard worker, dedicated to my team, and willing to do what it takes to be successful and very competitive. As a college freshman, I would like to have the opportunity to do what I love, play volleyball. There is more to playing volleyball than suiting up and taking the court. I will also be a leader when needed, be a team player and friend, and go above and beyond to ensure that our team is successful. A volleyball team is so much more than a team, it is a family. I am ready to find my new volleyball family.
Thank you so much for taking time to get to know a little more about me!
