Desaiya Florian '24 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to competitively play college volleyball as well as earn my college degree. Although I am currently undecided on a major, I know my education is an important factor to my future success.  I am a versatile player who is hard working and passionate. I have quick feet and I am a team leader. I believe in leading by example and I am a supportive and an encouraging teammate.

 I am competitive and ready to sacrifice anything to keep a rally going. I am a great communicator and love hyping up my team as much as I can. I am a coachable player and always eager to take constructive criticism; anything that makes me a better teammate and player.

My love for volleyball started later in life. I have always been interested in volleyball and when I started playing we went on lockdown due to the pandemic. During that time, I watched countless YouTube videos learning all that I can. As soon as the world started to open back up, I started taking private lessons and my love for volleyball grew immensely. In my spare time, I love watching college volleyball games on YouTube. I get excited envisioning myself playing for a college team one day.  

For my high school team, I am an outside hitter as well as the team captain. For my club team, I am a libero and opposite. I give 100% at every practice so that it can reflect at tournaments and games. I constantly try to improve by scheduling private lessons and attending various clinics to become the best athlete I can be.

I am excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity and truly believe I will be a great asset to your team. I am the student athlete you are looking for.
