Hi there! I'm Meaghan Tingley and I have been playing volleyball for eight years through various clubs and school teams. What I love most about volleyball is how it gives me an opportunity to experience what it means to work together as a team. Over the years, many coaches have praised me for my natural leadership on the court and ability to maintain positivity during the most difficult of games. During my time as a Freshman in high school at Tehachapi High School, I was setter and captain of my Frosh/Soph volleyball team and was awarded Most Valuable Player by my coach. I am a versatile player, as I can play DS, Setter, and Outside Hitter. As a DS, I can accurately send the ball to the setter and be a dependable back row player for the team. As a setter, I am able to read the ball and quickly direct my teammates on the court during games. I think quickly on my feet and I'm happy to play any position on the court to cover where my team needs me. When I think about my college years, I imagine it to be a time period comprised both of challenges and proud moments, as I continue my growth both as an athlete and an individual. At this time, I am still undecided about my college major, but I am narrowing my interests to Art, Marketing, and Psychology. I am an analytical thinker, which I think makes me a good candidate for college volleyball coaches, because I approach the game of volleyball the same way. When a coach give me criticism, I am able to correct myself quickly and adjust my play during a game. I appreciate the importance of making strategic changes in a game, because altering the way you play can affect the dynamic of your team, overall. I also equally enjoy helping and learning from my teammates. Spending time with your team on and off the court is crucial to building team unity and ultimately, team success. I look forward to the opportunity play college volleyball, where I can continue to show my dedication to my goals, my teammates, and to the sport I love, and become a well rounded adult ready to take on the world!
