My name is Morgan and I enjoy doing many things. While volleyball is my number one priority and go to hobby I also love to do lots of other activities. I'm the President of BSU (Black Student Alliance) at my school which helps gather my schools limited black community. I also participate in the Hearts and Heroes program which serves students with specials needs and disabilities. I also work with children ages 3 to 5 at my church.
As a student, I love working hard in school as well as volleyball. I currently have 4.0 GPA and ranked within the top 7 of my Sophomore class. Since starting high school I have been honored as student of the month five times, received the Principal's Honor Roll Award for 4.0 GPA, and Top Scholar awards for ranking within the Top 10 of 359 students. I also received a biology award for being ranked top 5 in my class and medal for MVP in AVID.
I participated in my high school volleyball team where I was team Captain, which left me ecstatic to start club season. My team ended the season as undefeated league champs, made it to 2nd rounds CIF and we won first place at the West Covina Tournament. At my high school volleyball banquet I was honored with League MVP, Team MVP, 1st All-Team, and Scholar Athlete. The Press Enterprise Newspaper announced I made Inland Empire 1st Team. In October, I was Inland Valley Athlete of the week and Southern California Athlete of the week. I ended my season ranked #1 Hitting Percentage among Sophomores and #3 among all grade levels (MaxPrep-2022). Last season I ended my season #1 in Kills (MaxPrep-2021).
For club volleyball, I play on the 16 Premier team at Rancho Valley Volleyball Club under the direction of Coach Danny Scott. As of our last tournament, we're ranked 3rd in Southern California. My team and I went undefeated at the Las Vegas Classic in Feb 2023. Last season my team placed 1st at PVL Regional tournament, 1st place at the 36th Annual Las Vegas Classic and 3rd at the ASICS - Kansas City Qualifier earning a USA bid to USAV Girl's Nationals in Indianapolis. On July 4, 2022, at the USAV Girls Nationals, my team earned a bronze medal and I was also awarded with All-Team Tournament. The previous season I played on 14-1 Premier in the Open Division at USAV Nationals.
Outside of school and volleyball I love to bake and cook, which is a great way for me to be with my family. Also, I love skin care!
As I continue to work hard, I look forward to what the future holds. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
