My plan is to pursue a career in medicine, with the goal of becoming a pediatric surgeon. I am a high-performing student, currently ranked #2 in my Junior class. I have completed AP classes and am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program. I am one of 10 students in my school selected to take Calculus 3 at Pomona College next year. I am exceptionally hard-working in the classroom and on the court and welcome challenges with positive energy and high enthusiasm. I would like to play for a college or university that meets both my academic and athletic goals.
A friend introduced me to volleyball in the eighth grade, and I've loved it ever since. Through volleyball, I've learned the importance of teamwork, leadership, and time management. It has shown me that I can be both dedicated to success and have fun at the same time.
On the volleyball court, I am a team-first player who is dedicated to leadership by example. Successful practice leads to success on game day. I work very hard in practice to earn the trust of my teammates and coaches by practicing hard and consistently. Winning is fun and preparing to win is what practice is all about. It is not just about building individual skills; it is also the place where players bond and learn to support and rely on one another.
On game day, I believe that a positive attitude at all times is critical. Teammates cannot point fingers of blame or retreat into a shell after an error; they need to be supported. Adversity should bring a team together, and constantly playing a strong role in positive team attitude is very important to me.
