Emily Hicks '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Emily Hicks and I'm 5'5" tall. From the moment I touched a volleyball in the fourth grade I developed a burning passion to learn more about the sport and become the best player that I can possibly be. I am currently a Defensive Specialist, doing what I love most. I began seriously pursuing volleyball in the 7th grade when I joined Sunset Volleyball club, as a sophomore I played up a level on the Delta valley 17-1 team. Currently as a junior I play for Elk Grove High school . My only desire is to get better and I strive to give 110 percent whether it be at practice, at a clinic, in a game for school, or at a tournament. I will always be giving my all and being a spark plug ,as my previous coaches have called me, for my other teammates to fuel off of. I plan on playing the highest level of volleyball possible and in order to do that I am going to continue to improve on my skills and maintain my 4.0 and higher GPA. I am taking as many AP and Honors classes as I can; not only will you see me giving 110 percent on the court, but in the classroom as well. As for my school preferences, I would love to go anywhere by the California coast but I also am open to other regions with my options wide open. Volleyball is my one true love and passion and I look forward to seeing what the next few years have in store for me.
