Personal Statement

I truly love the sport of volleyball and hope to continue my career in college at a school with both strong athletics and academics.  I'm a hard worker who likes to surround myself by the best people I can, people who motivate me to grow and stretch each day.  I love to be challenged mentally and physically and I'm happiest when I can perform well for my teammates, my coaches and my teachers.

I believe I would be a good candidate for your program because I am an extremely coachable player who loves to win and loves to help my team, both on and off the court, to do that.    This year in fact, I helped my high school team win its first-ever section championship in the 100 year school history with 29 kills in the final game.  Overall I had 483 kills this season, which was 1st in the Trans Valley League overall, 2nd in the Sac-Joaquin Sections overall, 3rd in California for the Class of 2022, and 27th in the Country for the Class of 2022.  I was also named First-Team All State, TVL All-League, and TVL Scholar Athlete with a 4.3 GPA.

I'm also a two-year varsity starter and Team Captain, have been voted Most Valuable Player and MVP Offense, TVL All-League and First Team All-State.  I was the Stockton Record Athlete of the Week for fall sports week 1, was honored as a 2018 and 2019 Stockton Record Best of the Record All-Star Preps Student Athlete, Received Highest Honorable Mention in Prep Volleyball's 2018 Frosh59 Report,  have qualified and competed twice in the National Division of USA Volleyball Nationals, and most recently was named to the Prep Volleyball 2019 Soph79 list.

Outside of the competition, volleyball is also something very special that I share with my sister and my very best friends and a sport I hope to continue to play for the rest of my life.

Thank you for considering me for your program.  I hope that you have the chance to view our court this season.

Sincerely,

Mandy Murphy

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
