My name is Zoe Bozzay and I am a scholar athlete at Escondido Charter High School in Escondido, California. I have been playing volleyball since the 6th grade; and I am determined to focus on playing into my college years. I was born in Chicago, Illinois. I am a daughter of a father who's a Hungarian immigrant and a mother of a Puerto Rican background.
I just completed my junior high school season, where I was voted League Player of the Year and was also named 1st Team All-League. I was also honored to be voted the co-captain! Since freshman year, I have been playing on varsity. Voted MVP first year; second year honored again as the MVP and earned 2nd Team All-League Team. Additionally, I have maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA while taking honors and AP classes.
I am looking for a college where I can balance school and volleyball. I would like to attend a great business school where I'm going to study business management. Volleyball made me come out of my shell and this was the first sport I really had a passion for. I know when to take initiative on and off the court, and when to become a leader and become positive when the team is down. I am very driven by the things I believe in. I founded a program at my school called Volleyball4Purpose and my mission is to introduce volleyball to the youth while giving back to our community. Some Saturday mornings, you will find me volunteering my time at our local YMCA assisting in the youth volleyball program. When I am not at school, volleyball practice or volunteering my time, I also have a part time job!
I keep a very active schedule with my high school career with the National Honor Society, CSF (California Scholarship Foundation) and the Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy! Being part of these programs have shown me to be a community leader, give back to my community and has strengthened my character.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. My goal is to play Collegiate Volleyball and I will give it my ALL!
Please contact me if you have any questions or want additional information.
Best regards,
Zoe Grace Bozzay
